North Star Independent Homeschoolers™
About Our Group
YFor Our Children, For Us Y
Our group was founded in 2006 by a local independently homeschooling Dad and Mom as a way for independents to come together for:
* Socialization and friendship development opportunities for our children.
* To meet and befriend other families who independently homeschool.
* To develop an information network for Interior independent homeschoolers.
Our group has grown into a resource for Interior independent homeschooling families and has added several offerings and opportunities for group member families. To learn about the many things we offer, visit our "What We Offer and How to Join" page.
Currently we have twenty-five families who are members of the North Star Independent Homeschoolers.
Our group is a Christian group, however, a family needn't be Christian to join as long as they don't mind hearing other members mention Christ or their faith in conversation. We are Christians from many different denominations and no "soul-saving", evangelizing, or conversion efforts (to either the religion or a specific denomination) are allowed.
Our group is not affiliated with other state and local homeschool groups, a particular denomination, and is not affiliated with any government or anti-government group. We are here solely to share with each member family non-financial support and great opportunities to not merely homeschool, but to have thriving homeschools, in which each family member gets the non-financial support, encouragement, and socialization opportunities they need to be and become well-rounded, well-educated citizens.
